Metropolitan Demetrios (Bekiaris)
of Goumenissa, Axiopolis and Polykastron

His Grace Metropolitan Demetrios (Bekiaris) was born in 1948 in Loutraki. He has studied theology. He was ordained Deacon in 1975 and Presbyter in 1976. He has been Prior at the Petrakis Monastery. He was Metropolitan of Larisa and Tyrnavon from 1989 to 1991. In 1991 was placed to the Metropolis of Goumenissa. He is the author of several books on Christian ethics. |
